Sitting on the line between Sarasota and Manatee, Trinity Charities, Inc. (TCI) is in a unique position to provide social services to both counties. Originally formed to assist people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, TCI has been expanding to provide other necessary services reaching both counties.
“There are growing needs in both communities.” said TCI President, Richard Henry. “We are a small organization that is able to accomplish big things by partnering with others that share our passion for helping those in need.”
TCI has recently partnered with two organizations – one in Sarasota and one in Manatee – to increase the types of services it can provide and to add service locations.
Through a partnership with Fairy Tail Endings, TCI is able to provide pet food and veterinary care services to clients. “This is a perfect way for each agency to do what it does best,” said Rhys Miller of Fairy Tail Endings. On September 17, Clark Road Animal Clinic provided free vaccinations and routine healthcare for 16 TCI pets through their annual Compassionate Care Clinic, 15 more TCI pets will receive wellness care and health screenings with Vets to YOU! at an on-site Wellness Clinic on October 22.
In Manatee, TCI has partnered with MASS, Inc. to provide outreach food services to homeless and at-risk youth and young adults. When asked why she operates a food distribution program from a van in the middle of the night, Dr. Joyce Dent-Good explained,” You have to be where your clients are when they are there.”
TCI will continue to build bridges with other organizations and across counties to provide necessary services to those with HIV/AIDS and will continue to expand services available to the general community.
You can help by signing up online at TrinityCharities.org for the AIDS Walk being held on Saturday, December 6, 2014. The easy, 2-mile, pet-friendly walk will start at J.D. Hamel Park and proceed over the iconic Ringling Bridge.
TCI EMERGENCY FUND
The TCI Emergency Fund was established to prevent homelessness for people with HIV/AIDS. This fund is a last resort and is used only when case workers cannot find other avenues of support for clients. TCI has recently had a surge in requests for emergency funds and is forced to deny some requests due to insufficent funding.
We would appreciate any assistance you can provide in helping us to meet the growing need in our community.
